Skiathos is the island of the Northern Sporades archipelago, located to the north of the island of Euboea. It is the most popular Greek resort island. From most islands of the Aegean Sea it differs by an abundance of greenery. Across the island dark-green vineyards, shady groves of olive, fig and almond trees are stretched... The main jewelry of Skiathos are beaches. There are more than 60 beaches on the small island, many of which are among the best in Greece. The island is also famous for lively night life, concentrated in the capital - the town of Skiathos. For a long time Skiathos was considered to be a "resort for millionaires", who arrived here on their own yachts. The resort is still popular among yachtsmen, but with opening of the international airport on the island, it has become available for guests without their own vessels.
