Dahab is one of the most attractive beach resorts in South Sinai, located half way between Sharm el Sheikh in the south and Nuweiba in the north. Dahab has retained its rustic charm and bedouin culture. This has attracted nomads and travelers for many years.
Dahab is world-renowned for its windsurfing. Reliable winds provide superb flat-water conditions inside Dahab's sand spit. Excellent dive sites lie both to the north and south, including Blue Hole. This circular, 203-foot drop off lies a few miles north of Dahab and it looks exactly like its name. Corals, fans, eels and dozens of fish species flourish here, and the space-like depths of the hole provides a magnificent backdrop.
It is really a lot of fun to be there. Within the years the area has developed into a tourist center with camps, motels, restaurants, and bazaars. Dahab consists of two bays El Qura Bay and Ghazala Bay. Nearby the latter one the Bedouin village El Assalah is located. Assalah is the most developed part of Dahab, a sprawling conglomeration of palm trees, shops, campgrounds, hotels, bars, and restaurants that lie along the shore of Ghazala Bay. A large variety of restaurants offer international and local cuisine at reasonable prices. Most of these restaurants have fish stalls in front, where one can pick the fish of one's choice and have it prepared according to one's wishes.
There are many different camel safaris to choose from, some of which go into the desert mountains and valleys and some of which go along coastal routes. One can easily arrange tours to some nearby points of interest: a Bedouin oasises - Ein Khudra and Three pools, Coloured Canyon, Mount Sinai and Saint Catherine Monastery.
