What is worth visiting in Berlin:
The Brandenburg Gate, erected in 1788-1791 by the architect Carl Gotthard Langhans. The Triumphal Arch with the famous towering it quadriga, made by Johann Gottfried Schadow, were badly damaged during the Second World War. After a thorough restoration in 1957, Deutsche Guggenheim Berlin Museum is dedicated to contemporary art. Exhibition halls are located at the first floor of a Deutsche Bank branch. The most debated Jewish Museum is located in one of the most remarkable buildings of the city. Its author is Daniel Lyubeskind. Charlottenburg Palace is one of the most exquisite examples of baroque architecture in Germany. The Palace was built by the wife of Frederick I, who has became the first queen. Art gallery is one of the most important art museums in Germany. Under the roof of the Pergamon Museum, located on the magnificent Museum Island in Berlin, there are three of the exhibitions – the Collection of objects of classical antiquity, the Museum of the Middle East and the Museum of Islamic Art. The unique pieces of art and architecture of ancient Greece, Rome, Babylon, Assyria, and also of culture of Islam and the Middle East are stored here. The New National Gallery is located in a modern building of glass and steel, built by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (1886-1969). There is a constantly growing collection of European and American art. Reichstag has become the Parliament building again. Old National Gallery is known for its collection of German and French Impressionists of the19 th century.
