Holidays in Bolivia. Carnival in Oruro. Every year in February in Bolivian town of Oruro is held a folk carnival, which is considered to be the most striking and distinctive holiday in Latin America. Recently, UNESCO has declared it " Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity ". In fact, this carnival is to honor the Blessed Virgin of Sokavon, which is the patroness of Bolivian miners. But religious context is just a convention. First of all, this is a folk festival. The whole country is involved in it. Every school and company is proud to present their team on a spectacular dance-play march.
