Bordeaux has had more than 3 million visitors in 2012, the Bordeaux Tourism Office has welcomed 745 000 tourists, which has increased by 57% in a decade. The hotel nights have also increased by 55%. Thanks to the urban projects of Bordeaux, the city is more attractive than ever before since it continues to appeal to the visitors, through the river, thevineyards and the cultural centres among others.

With almost 10% of the daily trips by bike of its inhabitants, almost 170 km of cycle lanes and the “bike-tourist city” label, Bordeaux pushed itself at the front of the great European cycling cities. The Bordeaux Museum of Contemporary Art (CAPC) celebrates its 40th anniversary and presents for the occasion a remarkable cultural and artistic programme. This celebration year will be based on exhibitions (« Yard » by Allan Kaprow, Raphaël Hefti) and conferences led by the art historian François Cusset. Young contemporary artists will also be highlighted. Markus Schinwald will present in the nave of the building, a mechanical theatre with a magnetised cage inhabited by mutant creatures andabstract works (May 15th till end of September 2013).
