What sort of area beside the tracks in Lahtiwould you like?
An international ideas competition is in progress for the development of the area along the railway tracks in the centre ofLahti. The competition area is situated in the centre of the entire urban fabric, in a highly visible location south of the Salpausselkä ridge, and it is an essential part of the development of theLahticity centre. The aim of the competition is to find an idea which is of a high quality from the cityscape and functional aspects. It would also take into consideration the future potential for development in the construction of the most central railway track section in Lahti.
The citizens’ participation in the planning of the area has a central role. Citizens with widely varying viewpoints are included in the generation of ideas for the area. These comments and ideas can be followed through these webpages.
