Restaurants in California are required to remove foi gras from their menus by July. Until then, Chef Josian Cirtin and Mélisse are ready to indulge their guests with Foie for All, an all foie gras tasting menu available nightly until the ban goes into effect. Citrin is unabashedly a lover of foie gras and outspoken when it comes to the new law. \"I don\'t agree that the state should regulate what we serve on our menus; I\'ll comply, but until then, I feel our guests that request foie gras should be able to enjoy this delicacy while they can.\"

C.H.E.F.S., the Coalition for Humane and Ethical Farming Standards, along with Los Angeles’ leading restaurants: Mélisse, The Royce at The Langham, Lemon Moon and Animal (Animal sold out), will simultaneously host a six-course prix fixe dinner to support sustainable farming practices and “the whole duck.” The battle for foie gras will feature esteemed chefs from Northern and Southern California at each of the participating restaurants working side-by-side. All proceeds from the dinner will benefit the Coalition for Humane and Ethical Farming Standards.

32nd Annual Picnic des Chefs

The Club Culinaire of Southern California will hold its annual Picnic des Chefs at Vasa Park in Agoura Hills, 2854 Triunfo Canyon Road, where 4 acres of lush mountain side await. LA’s top chefs will create authentic dishes from various regions of France and over 50 wineries will be pouring their favorite selections. The event is extremely kid-friendly (including a moon bounce paradise, heated swimming pool with a giant waterslide, rock climbing wall, drawing competition, and games). Wine Dinner at Napa Valley Grille

In anticipation of National Wine Day (Friday, May 25), Westwood Village’s rustic wine country-inspired dining destination, Napa Valley Grille and Saddleback Cellars will host a special wine dinner. To commemorate the tenth installment of the famed \"DioNicEss\" food & drink pairing series, the theme of this event has been dubbed \"DioNicEss X: Coming of Age,\" a play on the fact that every course, as well as the rare beers artfully paired with them, will have undergone some sort of careful aging. Five aged foods paired with five aged beers - this menu is NOT for the squeamish. Brewmaster Julian Shrago is creating a special beer called \"System Of A Stout\" specifically for the event, brewed with custom-roasted coffee beans, green cardamom pods, and blackstrap molasses.
