Select the country and object's type The Rio Grande Theatre\'s Monthly Film Las Cruces Forum Showcases the Works of PRC Productions Wednesday, March 14, 2012

The monthly Film Las Cruces forum-- the free community event sponsored by the Dona Ana Arts Council and the Las Cruces Film Liaison in the Rio Grande Theatre--has enjoyed a rise in popularity over the past few months. This is due, in large part, to the participation of local filmmakers who have stepped forward with trailers and short films, in-depth question and answer sessions and guest lecturers who provide insight into the world of New Mexico filmmaking.

This month Film Las Cruces will showcase the works of PRC Productions, a full-service production company which has been in existence since July 2010 and has created several high-profile documentaries and features for such notable clients as the Air Force Culture and Language Center, The Green Beret Foundation and Spirit Ranch. Many of their short documentaries and clips from upcoming projects will be screened throughout the evening, preceded by industry news and a few trailers and music videos from other sectors of the film community.

PRC Productions came into being in 2010 as an answer to the question, \"why is it that the very talented people in Southern New Mexico have to move to Albuquerque or California to find steady work in the film industry?\" Since that time, the company has put local crews and acting talent to work producing several short films and documentaries with plans in the works to produce two feature-length films in 2012; Desert Demons, written and directed by Henry Gonzalez and Negative Ions, written by John Muir III and John Muir IV, based on a short story by and directed by Troy Schoughton, Sr. PRC Productions expanded into a new facility in January of 2012 and now offers full editing, green screen and sound recording capabilities, in addition to full-service production equipment rental. The Rio Grande Theatre is located at 211 N. Downtown Mall, in Las Cruces. Film Las Cruces is a monthly forum taking place on the second Wednesday of every month. Doors open at 6:30pm and the presentation begins at 7pm. The event is FREE and open to the public. For more information visit www.RioGrandeTheatre.com or call (575) 523-6403.
