Bled is ready for World Rowing Championships 2011
Bled has so far hosted three World Rowing Championships at its unique and internationally famous natural course at Lake Bled, and after 22 years the World Rowing Championships is returning to Bled this Summer. The best rowers in the world will compete in one of the world’s most beautiful rowing courses between 28 August and 4 September 2011.
NATOUR – tourism business event for active holidays
NATOUR, the largest business tourism event for active holidays in natural environment will happen for the third time this year, in Slovenia. From the 28th of September to 2nd October 2011 oganizers expect 60 exhibitors from Slovenia and other countries of Southeast Europe and the same number of hosted buyers from Europe.
"JUMP TO PORTOROŽ!" - the new video of Portorož and Piran
“Jump to Portorož” is the new slogan of Portorož and Piran, two neighbouring coast towns, which are hoping to attract more visitors to the Slovenian coast. With a very popular song by Magnifico “Hir aj kam hir aj go” playing in the background of the video, numerous famous Slovenians appear in front of the camera.
Festival journey through Slovenia
The pre-summer festival happenings in Slovenian cities are intensifying in these summer months. Festivals give cities a fresh spirit, while both locals and visitors experience the cities and other venues, which turn into lively settings, in a different, less touristic way. Slovenia certainly cannot be accused of festival lethargy.
Outstanding achievements of a small nation.
Recently, Slovenia has marked two outstanding achievements. Slovenian artist, Marjetica Potrč, has been ranked third on the list of Ten Most Important Artists of Today by the American weekly Newsweek, and the GSN Global Cup website declared Slovenia as the fourth most successful sporting nation in the world, considering the number of inhabitants.
Week of golf at the Golf Courses Bled and Diners Ljubljana
Hot summer days in Smlednik will be given a new character by a week of golf, which will take place in 3 to 6 August, in the green outskirts of the Slovenian capital, just a quarter of an hour’s drive from the city centre. The Diners Ljubljana Golf Course will host many golfists, both Slovenian and foreign.
